Guwahati (Assam), May 12: Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath as Assam Chief minister on Tuesday for second consecutive term after the BJP has a landslide victory in the recent Assembly polls.
Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya administered Dr Sarma the oath of office and secrecy at a crowded function at the Khanapara Veterinary Playground in Guwahati attended by Prime minister Narendra Modi, many of his cabinet colleagues, BJP president Nitin Nabin, NDA Chief ministers along with a few top industrialists.
Along with Dr Sarma, the Governor Acharya administered oath to four of his cabinet colleagues namely Ajanta Neog, Rameshwar Teli, Atul Bora (AGP) and Charan Boro
.
According to sources, other cabinet ministers would be inducted by next week.
Most of the guests including Prime minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda reached Guwahati last evening.
