Shillong, Sep 17: Rangdajied United continued their revival in the Shillong Premier League 2026 with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nangkiew Irat at the SSA Stadium on Thursday.
Mebannangkiew Thabah opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Ronaldkydon L Nonglait equalised for Nangkiew Irat in the 32nd. Micky Marwein struck the winner in the 81st minute with a clean finish from the left of the box into the far corner.
It is back-to-back wins for Rangdajied after going winless in their first three games. The result lifts them from eighth to sixth in the table. Nangkiew Irat drop to seventh and Meghalaya Police to eighth, with both sides level on seven points along with fifth-placed Nongkseh and Rangdajied, separated only by goal difference and goals scored.
Rangdajied looked a far more cohesive unit today with better passing and decision-making. Winger Gideon Mukhim was a livewire on the right and set up the opener with a sharp cross that Thabah tapped in after Lyngkhoi had struck the woodwork from distance.
Nangkiew Irat responded well and goalkeeper Akash Thapa, playing his first game of the season, kept his side alive with a point-blank save in the 28th minute, though the rebound was ruled offside. Ronaldkydon then brought them level with a stunning strike from a difficult high ball.
After the break Rangdajied regained control. Gideon headed over, Ejingmut Dkhar shot wide and Ronaldkydon saw his 71st-minute effort deflected for a corner. Nangkiew Irat pressed but failed to sustain momentum, and it was Micky who had the final say.
Ninth-placed Laitkor will face fourth-placed Sawmer tomorrow at 3pm in a crucial clash for survival.
