Shillong (Meghalaya), May 11: Meghalaya stamped their authority on Group A of the U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2026 with a 5-0 win over Jharkhand in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Sunday.
Despite the match being pushed from morning to evening, Meghalaya dominated throughout. Mebanlamlynti Masharing struck in the 19th minute and completed his hat-trick with goals in the 73rd and 87th minutes. Menangpyndap Khongjee in the 27th and Damitre Kynjing in the 67th were the other scorers.
This was Meghalaya’s second win after beating Bihar 3-1 two days ago. The team will face Andhra Pradesh next on Wednesday at 4:15 pm.
