Shillong (Meghalaya), July 18: Two young Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) from Meghalaya have been honored for their outstanding contributions at the CSC Diwas Celebration held in New Delhi on July 16. Rose Angeline Kharsyntiew from Mairang in Eastern West Khasi Hills and Sengbath D Sangma from Samanda in East Garo Hills were recognized for their impactful work through their Common Service Centers (CSCs).
Kharsyntiew received the prestigious CSC Udyami Ratna Samman for her efforts in running Rose CSC in Mairang. Her center provides access to various government and private services, creating employment opportunities for herself and others in the community.
Sangma was awarded for being the Top Transacting VLE of Meghalaya for the financial year 2024-2025, highlighting his significant contributions to digital service delivery in his region.
The CSC Diwas 2025 marked 16 years of CSCs playing a pivotal role in empowering India at the grassroots level. CSCs are a key component of the Digital India initiative, bridging the digital divide and empowering citizens by providing access to digital services in rural and remote areas.
