New Delhi, Aug 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for early implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to ensure 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the 80th Independence Day, he urged political parties to set aside differences and treat women’s empowerment as a national mission, not a matter of political credit.

Describing the Bill as a decisive step to strengthen women’s power, Modi said equal participation of women was essential for nation-building.
