New Delhi, July 23: A war-like situation continued in central Delhi on Thursday as CJP protests grew, prompting heavy security deployment.
Police and paramilitary forces cordoned off Rajiv Chowk and Jantar Mantar to prevent protesters from regrouping. 16 metro stations including Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Supreme Court were closed from 7:30 AM till further notice.
The CJP alleged Delhi Police parked a “totally damaged car” at the protest site and shared visuals of the shattered vehicle, saying it was to pre-empt blame on peaceful protesters.
While Wednesday was largely peaceful, clashes erupted between protesters and police on Sansad Marg on Thursday.
