Tura ( Meghalaya), Jan 28: In a bid to revolutionize the education system in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma launched the Model Creative Learning Centre (MCLC) at Dobakkol in Tura, introducing game-based learning for children across the state.
While inaugurating the MCLC, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of game-based learning in developing essential skills in children, including perceptual, motor, cognitive, and self-regulation skills.
A State-Wide Initiative:
Under the Early Childhood Development (ECD) mission, the government plans to set up learning centers across Meghalaya, providing children with access to game-based learning. The state government has sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh for the project under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF).
A Collaborative Effort:
The MCLC is a result of a collaborative effort between Mere Mentor and Dobakkol Non-Government L.P. School. While the state government has funded the infrastructure, the organization will be responsible for ensuring the center’s functionality.
This initiative marks a significant step towards transforming the education landscape in Meghalaya, and the state government’s commitment to providing innovative learning opportunities for its children.
