Bhopal. May 14: At least 5 people died and over 20 sustained injury when a massive explosion took place at firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
The incident took place in the morning at Tonkkala in Dewas district where many injured people have been battling for life in the hospitals.
The entire locality rattled under the impact of the explosion with a huge sound. Talking to www.southasiaviews.com, a few local residents say they came to see flesh and severed body parts left scattered across the road and the entire area was caught into a deep chaos and panic.
A huge portion of the factory was reduced into a heap of mangled remains.
Fire tenders took it several hours in the morning to bring the situation under control. Rescue operations are going on. The district administration shifted the injured people to the nearest hospitals.
Meanwhile, On his X, Chief Minister Mohan wrote, “The news of several people being killed or injured in the explosion at a firecracker factory in Tonk Kala, Dewas district, is heart-wrenching. I have directed the district in-charge and Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda ji, the Home Secretary, and senior officials to reach the incident site.”
