Chennai (Tamil Nadu), May 10 i: Ending the 6-decade long Dravidian parties’ dominance, actor-cum-Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President C. Joseph Vijay took oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. He will face test floor on May 13.
Tamil Nadu Governor, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered him the oath of office and secrecy at a crowded ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with many prominent film personalities were present.
Nine of his ministers also took oath in alongside as part of his council of ministers on Sunday.
Then he rushed to the Chief Minister’s office and assumed charges.
Hours after assuming charges Vijay promised 200 free electricity, safety of women and welfare of the common people much to the delight of millions of his fans across the state.
Vijay got 108 seats and failed to touch the magic mark forcing him to approach Congress who had 5 seats, CPI and CPM also supported him with 2 seats each. The last one to join him was VCK who has 2 seats.
