Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 29: The investigation into the shocking suicide of a girl student at Jail Road Girls School in Shillong has taken a significant turn, with authorities uncovering disturbing details about the events leading up to the tragic incident.
According to sources close to the investigation, the 15-year-old student, whose identity has not been disclosed, had been facing intense academic pressure and was struggling to cope with the demands of her studies.
Preliminary findings suggest that the student had been scolded by her teacher for not completing her homework, which may have triggered the suicidal thoughts.

The school administration has also launched an internal inquiry into the matter, with the principal stating that they are cooperating fully with the authorities.

The Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has also taken cognizance of the matter and has issued a notice to the school authorities, seeking a detailed report on the incident.
As the investigation continues, the community remains in mourning, remembering the young life lost and calling for greater vigilance and support to prevent such tragedies in the future.
