Shillong (Meghalaya), June 19: The Customs Preventive, North Eastern Region (NER), has made a significant bust in the fight against drug trafficking, seizing substantial quantities of Methamphetamine and Heroin valued at ₹30.17 Crores in three separate operations.
In one notable operation on June 18, officers from CPF Silchar, in a joint operation with the BSF, intercepted an abandoned Mahindra Bolero at Panibhora on the Mizoram-Silchar road. They recovered 79 soap cases containing 885.56 grams of suspected heroin and 15 boxes containing 15 kg of suspected methamphetamine tablets, valued at ₹22.15 crores.
