Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 22: In a significant step towards enhancing border cooperation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held a sector commander-level meeting at BOP Mahenderganj in South West Garo Hills.
The BSF delegation, led by Lalit Mohan Sharma, DIG, Sector HQ BSF Tura, and the BGB team, headed by Sarkar Mohammd Mostafir, Deputy Director General, Sector Commander BGB, Mymensingh, Bangladesh, engaged in fruitful discussions.
During the meeting, both border guarding forces addressed key issues, including the implementation of the Coordinated Border Management Plan, prevention of illegal activities, border crossing, and drug trafficking. They also explored areas of mutual interest, such as joint patrolling and intelligence sharing.
The commanders expressed satisfaction over the cordial discussions, reflecting the friendly bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh. Both sides agreed to implement joint initiatives, marking a significant step forward in border cooperation.
This meeting is part of a series of sector commander-level meetings between BSF and BGB, demonstrating the commitment of both nations to maintaining peace and security along their borders.
