Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 2: The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya enthusiastically observed the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign today, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. This initiative promotes cleanliness and hygiene in daily life.
BSF Meghalaya organized a massive cleanliness drive at its office premises and surrounding civilian areas, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a clean and secure border region. The event was part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, celebrated from Sept 15 to Oct 2 annually, aiming to generate community participation, promote sanitation, and create a garbage-free India.
Speaking about the event, Harbax Singh Dillon, IG BSF Meghalaya, stated that ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign holds great significance as it aligns with their commitment to maintaining a clean and secure border region. He emphasized that a clean environment not only enhances the quality of life but also strengthens national security.
“The BSF Meghalaya remains dedicated to upholding the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and contributing to a cleaner India,” added IG Dillon.
