Shillong (Meghalaya), April 30 : Two more Covid -19 fatalities and 229 new cases were reported in the state on Friday .
According to official sources , One Barasha Rani Das (22 years ) from Assam, was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on Wednesday and died the same day. The cause of her death was Type 1 respiratory failure with lupus, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypothyroidism and Covid-19. The other patient, Dhaneswar Debarma (35 yrears ) from Gasuapara in South Garo Hills was brought dead to Dalu Community Health Centre Thursday afternoon. A sample was taken and the patient was found to be Covid-19 positive .
Among the 229 cases reported today , 124 were from East Khasi Hills, 27 from West Jaintia Hills, 17 from East Jaintia Hills , 14 each from East Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi , 9 each from West Khasi Hills and North Garo Hills , 5 each from West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills, 4 from South Garo Hills and 1 from South West Garo Hills.
A total of 186 patients were discharged from various hospitals after their recovery today .
