Kokrajhar (Assam),April 13:Extending humanitarian services to needy during the ongoing nationwide lockdown, various government agencies, NGOs ,well wishers, and businessmen have joined had together to ensure that not a single resident stays hungry in the entire Bodoland Territorial Areas District , especially the remote areas and accordingly are distributing food grains and essential commodities to all the needy people .
So far there are no reports of any positive cases in BTAD region and the lockdown entered the 20th day on Monday.
The District administration has deployed strong security across the region and is keeping close watch on the situation during the ongoing lockdown.
The Government employees including teachers from greater Sesapani village under Kokrajhar police station distributed food grains amongst 48 needy families who are mainly daily wage earners during the lockdown period at Sesapani village.They distributed essential food grains , Rice, Dal, cooking oil, Salt, Soaps etc .
Govt employees and village headman from Parowguri village under Fakiragram police station also distributed food grains amongst the needy families to the poorer of the poorest amidst maintaining of social distance,
Director of Upendra National(UN) Academy,Kokrajhar Krishna Gopal Basumatary extended his help by distributing food items like rice, dal,musterd oil and money at his native village in greater Molandubi under Kokrajhar police station.
School teacher of Bhomraguri LP School, Ratindra Basumatary also came forward to distribute food grains amongst the needy families at Dharampur area near Simbargaon locality.
A school teacher from Sesapani village,Bikendra Laifanghary said that the government employees are coming out to extend all help to the poor and the needy l by distributing food grains amongst the needy citizens. Majority of the employees contributing to ensure that no one stays hungry at this hour of crisis
The Kokrakhar Science College, and National Social Services (NSS), Science College unit also came forward to extend little helping hand by distributing food grains at Chandamari Part II village near Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar.The NSS unit of Science College had adopted the Chandamari village few years back to ensure the upliftment of the the village in all frontal aspects like education, hygiene , sports in the area.
On Sunday ,the college authorities and staff came forward under the leadership of college principal Dr RN Sinha to contribute food grains amongst the needy peoples during the ongoing lockdown. The village has 25 families and is located at Chandamari behind the Gaurang River.
Dr. Sinha said that the college authority and staff have joined hands to contribute to the needy citizens who have been facing severe hardships due to lockdown. He said that the college has adopted the Chandamari Part II village since few years back.
He said that the college authority is taking the entire responsibility of distributing foods grains to all the needy people .
