New Delhi, July 23: The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the alleged murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya last year.
A bench of the apex court directed Sonam to surrender before the concerned authorities within three weeks. However, the court granted her the liberty to move a fresh bail application if the trial is not concluded within six months.
Raja Raghuvanshi, a tourist from Indore, was allegedly killed in Meghalaya in 2024 during the couple’s honeymoon. The case triggered nationwide outrage and intense police investigation in the State.
The cancellation of bail comes amid demands for a speedy trial in the high-profile case.
The matter will now proceed in the trial court as per the Supreme Court’s directions.
