Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 26: In a daring operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya has foiled a massive sugar smuggling attempt, seizing four vehicles loaded with 15,000 kg of sugar worth over ₹6 lakhs.
The successful operation was carried out by the vigilant troops of the 4th Battalion, BSF, on Monday, Nov 25, near the Tri-Junction at the border area under East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.
The seized sugar and vehicles were handed over to the Customs Office in Dawki for further investigation and legal action. This significant crackdown on sugar smuggling highlights the BSF’s unwavering commitment to securing India’s borders and preventing illicit activities.
