Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 7 : Student bodies and social organizations including the Khasi Students’ union and Hynniewtrep Youth Movement on Tuesday, Dec 7 paid rich floral tributes to the former President of Khasi Students’ Union, Bull N. Lyngdoh on his 27th Death Anniversary.
The student organizations placed wreaths at the bust of former KSU leader, Late Bull Lyngdoh at Dhankheti Point here .
Speakers fondly remembered the former KSU President for his dedicated service in the fight against influx by foreign nationals and inter-state migrant labourers. The programme was attended by KSU President, Lambokstar Marngar, the General Secretary, Donald V Thabah and other KSU leaders.
Marngar urged the people of the state to emulate the good example shown by former KSU President Bull N. Lyngdoh who dedicated his life for the welfare of the community.
Late Bull Lyngdoh was the President of the KSU from 1984 to 1990. During his tenure as the president of the KSU he dedicated all his time and energy for the protection of the indigenous tribal community .
The MDC of Malki,Fantin Lakadong, the relatives of Late Bull Lyngdoh, HYC President-Robert Jahrin, MLA of Shillong East Assembly Constituency, Ampareen Lyngdoh were also present on the occasion.
MDC, Jahrin said Bull N. Lyngdoh is still fondly remembered because he had lived up to his ideologies to protect the Hynniewtrep community and had to face imprisonment including torture by the state police.
