Shillong (Meghalaya ), Dec 8 : 2 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the state taking the death toll to 122 .
The patients have been identified as Vanlal Faka Hmar aged 74 years from Madanrting area of Shillong . The patient tested positive on Nov 14 and was admitted to Woodland Hospital . and passed away on Dec 5. The cause of death was due to severe Covid pneumonia with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
Bhawan Singh Rai aged 79 years from Happy Valley area of the city was admitted to Nazareth Hospital on Nov 21 and passed away this afternoon. The cause of death was due to Covid pneumonia with Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and coronary artery disease.
On Tuesday 98 new cases were detected in the state taking the state tally to 12, 410 .
Among the new cases 73 were reported in East Khasi Hills , 11 from West Garo Hills, 8 from Ri Bhoi , 3 from South West Garo Hills , 2 from East Jaintia Hills and 1 from East Garo Hills .
A total of 113 patients were declared recovered today .
