Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec 2: President of Assam state Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) ,Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that BJP ended their alliance with BPF due massive corruption and anomalies in the Bodoland Territorial Council during their tenure for three terms .
BJP chief Dass on Wednesday while addressing an election campaign at Dotma here in support of party’s candidate Bibhuti Borgoyary, said that his party is getting mass support in the four districts of the council.
BJP is contesting in 26 seats and extending support to an independent candidate at Srirampur .
He alleged that BPF has totally failed to work for the welfare and development in their last 17 years of rule in the BTAD administration.
He was confident that the saffron party is winning with absolute majority to form the next BTC council.
He said BJP government will take oath within December 15 to bring welfare and development. He added that BJP will invite BPF president Hagrama Mohilary during the oath taking ceremony if BJP is voted to the power.
Dass said that BPF itself broke down alliance with BJP first by not allotting executive member position to the lone elected BJP MCLA in BTC Legislative Assembly in 2016 as per the spirit of alliance in the state.
Dass also declared that there will also be no alliance with BPF in 2021 assembly elections in the state.
He said that BJP has an alliance with common public and not with any political parties in the council.
” BJP is for welfare and massive development in BTC”,Dass said .
Earlier, Assam state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass paid floral tributes to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at his Boragari Dotma village in Kokrajhar district and recalled the contributions of Bodofa.
Dass said that Bodofa’s contribution towards Bodoland movement resulted in the creation of Bodoland Autonomous Council(1993), Bodoland Territorial Council(2003) and recently Bodoland Territorial Region(2020) in the state .
“We must keep alive ideology and philosophy of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma among the society”, Dass added.
Dass was accompanied by noted Assamese film actor Jatin Borah and party candidate Bibhuti Borgoyary.
