Jowai (Meghalaya), Dec 3 : On Wednesday evening , one specific intelligence inputs one white Bolero bearing Assam Registration loaded with explosives moving somewhere from 4Kilo area towards Kongong was seized .
An alert was immediately sounded regarding the same and the said vehicle was intercepted at Kongong under Lad Rymbai outpost .
On searching the vehicle, it was found to be loaded with 10 Cartons filled with 250Kgs of Explosives (2000 Gelatin Sticks) , 1000 live Detonators .
A team consisting of DSP (HQ),& DSP (crime) and other officers arrested two persons occupying the said vehicle and on their leading 4 more persons were arrested from Umpleng, Mokympad and 5 Kilo who are suspected to be involved in supplying the explosives to the two persons .
The arrested persons then led the police team to a concealed place at 5Kilo under Khliehriat from where the explosives were suspected to have been loaded to the Bolero .
A search operation was conducted conducted from where 51 cartons loaded with approximately 1275Kgs of Explosive (10200 gelatine Sticks) , 5000 Live denators and 8 Rools of Cordtex (Fuse) suspected to be of the same kind used in the recent 4Kilo blast were Seized.
Altogether 1525 kgs of explosives were seized during the operation.
A case under Explosives Act and other relevant sections of law has been registered, and a probe on the same is on.
