Mohilary announced this while addressing the open meeting of the first-ever Bodoland Krishak Samaroh held at Madhupur near Barama in Baksa district . .He said that the BJP led NDA government intends to bring peace and integrity through this peace accord.

He said that necessary measures and initiatives from government side has been initiated for signing of the peace accord with all factions of the NDFB .

Mohilary added that the long -awaited peace process is finally coming with the signing of the accord shortly.

“We are part of NDA government,so iam aware of whatever initiatives the centre is planning for Bodoland “,he said.

He ,said that signing of the accord is not only welfare for Bodos,it will be beneficial for all the citizens of the region which will finally pave way healthy development and welfare of the the entire region .

He said that a proposal has been put forward for direct funding to the BTC administration for developmental activities in the region.

He added that with the signing of peace accord direct funding would be there from the centre.

He was of the opinion that direct funding from the centre is very much required in the council. The development fund should from the centre and not through the state.

He said that this would be possible only the signing of the accord .He has opined that the non tribals residing in the region wont be affected through the peace accord, rather it will be beneficial for them .

He has also appealed to the anti-talk faction of NDFB-S to come forward and join the peace process. The government is trying its best to communicate with the anti- talk faction to come to the main stream.

On the ABSU’s influence in the peace accord, Mohilary said, “If ABSU wants peace accord without separate statehood as students union is voicing for peace accord, then I shall welcome the ABSU for their initiatives because the issues and demands of the NDFB are going to met shortly through the political dialogue”.

He said that Agriculture department was working with dedication to uplift and welfare of the farmers since it’s inception in the region. He said even though we thought to dedicate more for agricultural aspects , unfortunately there has been little growth in agricultural sector .

“We(BTC administration) will provide more stress on medical, education and agricultural sectors in the coming days”,he added.

Mohilary announced that Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa and Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district would be upgraded to districts in the council in near future.

Commenting on the ensuing BTC elections, Mohilary claimed that Bodoland People’s Front would be winning majority of the seats in the council for the fourth consecutive term .

Notably, the council election is due in during March-April this year .The BTC was created through tripartite peace talks in 2003.
