Kokrajhar (Assam),Jan 13: The general population of the state , irrespective of caste and creed have hailed the decision of the Saoraigwra faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland(NDFB-S), perhaps the last militant group from the restive NE who have finally decided to come over from Myanmar to the Indian soil for taking part in the peace peace dialogue with the centre .
The NDFB-S members led by its chairman B Saoraigwra and other top ranking leaders,family members and personal security of the outfit’s top leadership are now in Indian soil.
According to highly placed sources, after entering the Indian soil via Nagaland-Manipur border from Myanmar, the NDFB-S leaders are now in New Delhi to participate in the peace process with centre to solve the NDFB issue through political dialogue.
The centre is keen to sign a pact soon with all factions of NDFB and on assurance from centre , the NDFB-S armed faction finally returned back to Indian soil, highly placed sources told South Asia Views .
NDFB was founded on Oct 3 1986 and the founder president was Ranjan Daimary(D R Nabla). However,the militant outfit separated into four factions namely the NDFB(Progressive),NDFB(Ranjan Daimary),NDFB(Dhiren Boro) and NDFB(S).
The progressive faction of the NDFB are already in ceasefire with the government since June 2005 and have already had few rounds of peace talks with the government.
Welcoming the NDFB-S back to India , the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) president Pramod Boro said ABSU always wants sustainable peace and is against any type of armed revolution. Boro has also urged the centre to initiate positive steps to solve the Bodo issue through the political dialogue and thanked the centre for initiating to bring the NDFB-S to the mainstream.
General Secretary of the Progressive faction of the NDFB, S Sanjarang told South Asia Views that it is a very positive development that the NDFB-S has finally come to Indian soil for peace process through political dialogue .He welcomed the NDFB-S members who are showing positive vibes for peace process through political dialogue.
He has demanded a comprehensive solution for permanent peace in the region.
President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha ,Toren Boro also welcomed the NDFB-S for finally deciding to be part of the peace process.He was hopeful that there would be a long lasting solution with the NDFB (S) leaders through political dialogue.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL president Urkhao Gwra Brahma has also welcomed the NDFB-S members who have returned to the mainstream to initiate a peace process with the centre and appreciated the initiative of the centre in bringing NDFB-S members to to the country and participate in the peace process.
President of the People’s Democratic Movement for Bodoland, Zebraram Mushahary has also welcomed the NDFB-S leaders who are stepping to take part in the peace dialogue with the government.
