Kokrajhar (Assam),April 10 :At a time when citizens across the country are indoors fearing the spread of COVID-19,noted writer and a member of Assam Sahitya Sabha based in Kokrajhar has composed and sung with his guitar to create awareness of COVID-19 virus outbreak during the ongoing nationwide lockdown across the country.
Raju Kumar Basumatary is a resident of Ward number in Kokrajhar town has composed and sung the number in Assamese language which is parody of a famous hindi song sung by Lata Mangeshkar to bring awareness and maintain social distancing amongst the citizens during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
He told South Asia Views that for the past few days he is playing the guitar and singing the songs inside his house during the ongoing nationwide lockdown across the country.
He also made an appeal to stay at home and follow the instructions and directions given by the government and health department to control the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak through his songs in the country.
” I am not a professional singer,but Iam singing only to create awareness about the spread Coronavirus among the society”, Basumatary added.
