Shillong (Meghalaya), March 29 : In a major breakthrough, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya has seized 285 Yaba tablets, a highly addictive narcotic, in a search operation conducted on March 28 . The operation was carried out in the vicinity of the international border under South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, based on specific intelligence input.
During the operation, the BSF team recovered a black plastic packet concealed near a tree, which contained the seized Yaba tablets. These tablets were intended to be smuggled into Bangladesh. The BSF has handed over the seized drugs to Gasuapara Police Station, SGH for further legal proceedings.
This achievement demonstrates the BSF’s commitment to curbing cross-border smuggling and protecting the nation’s borders from illicit activities. The BSF Meghalaya has been actively involved in combating border crimes and strengthening bilateral ties.
