Shillong(Meghalaya), April 03 : In a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan today, Smt. RV Suchiang, the former Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, was sworn in as the State Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). The oath was administered by Governor C.H. Vijayashankar, with various state government officials and Smt. Suchiang’s family members in attendance.
The ceremony commenced with the National Anthem, followed by the official notification being read out by F R. Kharkongor, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Arts and Culture.
As the new CIC, Smt. Suchiang will serve a three-year term, overseeing the implementation of the Right to Information Act in Meghalaya.
