Shillong (Meghalaya), Mar 26: The 7th Act East Business Show has entered its second day, featuring pivotal sessions focused on harnessing technology and innovation to drive growth in Meghalaya. Organized by the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, the event is being held at the State Convention Centre, here.
The second day of the event marked a significant milestone in establishing North East India as a key export hub for agriculture, livestock, food processing, and manufacturing. Two parallel sessions were conducted, focusing on distinct themes.
Empowering Growth Through Technology and Innovation in Meghalaya
One session delved into empowering growth through technology and innovation in Meghalaya, with discussions centered around IT investments, emerging technologies, and sustainable development strategies tailored for the region. Experts emphasized the importance of innovation and technology in driving regional growth and explored ways to leverage technology to boost economic development in Meghalaya.
Making North East India a Key Export Hub
The other session concentrated on making North East India a key export hub for agriculture, livestock, food processing, and manufacturing. Stakeholders discussed strategies to enhance trade and commerce in the region, and explored opportunities for collaboration with BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal) and ASEAN nations.
Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of innovation and technology in driving regional growth. “We must harness the power of technology to drive economic growth and development in Meghalaya,” she said.
The 7th Act East Business Show aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between BBIN and ASEAN nations, with a focus on key sectors like technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. The event has brought together stakeholders from across the region to explore opportunities for collaboration and growth.
