Guwahati ( Assam) , May 15 : The customary last rites of the 18 dead elephants performed by
the forest officials till late Friday evening.

The burial images show severe burn injuries due to lightning strike on Wednesday night.
The herd of 18 elephants died near Bamuni Pahar, Nagaon in Assam by a massive lightning strike .
Meanwhile ,an enquiry committee headed by an AFS Officer & a team of veterinarians has been instituted, the preliminary report of which has been asked to be submitted within 3 days & a detailed investigation report within 15 days.
