Imphal(Manipur), May 15 :Raj Medicity, Imphal has suspended new admissions of both covid and non covid patients due to lack of oxygen.
In view of the current situation of increase of COVID-19 positive cases and due to lack of medical oxygen, admission of both Non-Covid and Covid patients was suspended with immediate effect, an order said and issued by the hospital’s Medical Superintendent in-charge, Dr Ng Narendra Singh on Friday.
Only the Casualty and Emergency services (first aid) shall be provided, the order further stated.
Raj Medicity is one of the three private hospitals In Manipur treating COVID-19 patients.There are 13 health Institutes treating COVID patients at present, including three private hospitals — Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity and AOI Babina Speciality Hospital. The others are government run hospitals including Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and other District hospitals.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday said that the government is trying to explore all possible means to ensure no dearth in oxygen supply. Oxygen generating units of different capacities would be set up in all the districts at the earliest through a video message to the people of the State.
In addition to the 50 oxygen concentrators which the State had received a few days back, around 1000 more concentrators would arrive in a couple of days, he added.
