      Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Mar 11: Various organisations and political parties including the chief of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) Hagrama Mohilary,United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) president Pramod Boro have hailed and welcomed the election notification for BTC scheduled on April 4 next.

      The council will be conducting elections for the 40 seats that will be held before Bwisagu or Bihu is celebrated in the region.

      The state election commission today announced the date of BTC election and the code of conduct which will be effective from today till the elections are held on April 4 next. The counting will take place on April 8 next .
      The Last date for filing of nominations is 18th March, and the scrutiny will be held on March 19. The last day for withdrawal of nominations is March 21 and the final date for publication of the contesting candidates is on March 21 .

      While welcoming the election notification, Mohilary, who is also the chief of ruling Bodoland People’s Front said that it is a good message for the people as today the election commission declared the dates for the elections .

      He clarified that his party is contesting the election with its own candidates in alliance with BJP and AGP.He said that BPF is contesting for bringing peace and development all sections of the society.

      He was confident that BPF would again be coming to power for the fourth consecutive term by winning majority of the seats.

      UPPL president and former ABSU president Pramod Boro has also welcomed the election notification and appealed to all to ensure that election to the council is held in free and fair manner .He said that it is a happy moment that the election and the counting would be completed before the Bwisagu or Bihu celebration in the state.
      He said that his party is ready to contest the forthcoming elections.

      BTC executive member and BPF leaders Rajib Brahma, Doneswar Goyary,Bonjar Daimary,Bijitgwra Narzary have also hailed the election notification for the BTC council.

      They were of the opinion that it was a good decision to complete the whole election process before the Bwisagu or Bihu celebrations in the state .

      They were confident that the BPF would get the majority in the council and form the council for the fourth consecutive term.
