Kokrajhar(Assam),Mar 11: Sitting Rajya Sabha MP from ruling partner Bodoland People’s Front(BPF) Biswajit Daimary today filed the nomination for Rajya Sabha elections for the straight third consecutive term and extended his sincere gratitude and thanks to the BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary for nominating him for Rajya Sabha elections slated to be held on March 26 next.
Daimary filed his nomination in the presence of BTC chief Mohilary,senior leaders from BJP,AGP before the returning officer for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Daimary started his political career as MLA from Tamulpur constituency in 2001 and continued to 2006.However,he was defeated in 2006 Assembly election.
The BPF forged an alliance with Congress in 2006 and become ruling partner in the state.He was first nominated as MP in Rajya Sabha in 2008 from BPF and Congress in the Dispur. Again,Daimary was nominated as MP for second term in 2014 as BPF-Congress alliance candidate .
During the 2016 Assam assembly elections,ruling BPF became alliance partner of BJP and AGP in the Dispur and accordingly,Daimary this time(2020) got the opportunity to be nominated for Rajya Sabha elections for the
third consecutive term .
BPF has expressed it’s hope that Daimary would win with sufficient votes in the elections.

I am honoured to take the responsibility and to work for the welfare and well being of the community. May people keep on blessings me”, Daimary said.
