Kokrajhar (Assam),Aug 9: BTC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro on Monday visited various places in Bijni sub-division of Chirang district to take stock of the issues relating to developmental activities.
Boro, first held a review meeting with the sub-divisional heads of various departments to take stock of the developmental activities being done by them in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner and in-charge Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Bijni Dibakar Nath . This was followed by a visit to Bijni Bandhav Higher Secondary School, to supervise the ongoing construction site of Polytechnic College at Gargaon, river eroded sites at Charapet, Dwimuguri and Malipara villages to assess the present condition.
He also visited Ulubari high school, Veterinary office and Panbari High school. During his visit to the Sub-Division, he was accompanied by BTC Executive Members Ranjit Basumtary and Dhananjay Basumtary along with Bijni district UPPL leaders.
In a statement to the media, CEM Promod Boro said that infrastructures of some government offices in Bijni sub-division urgently needed repairing, and all these would be done within two years and made usable.
He also expressed hope that in the forthcoming assembly by-elections, the UPPL would contest with the BJP and GSP in a friendly manner.
CEM Boro also said, “The leaders along with cadres of the extremist organization NLFB have already realized futile steps of taking up arms and returned to the mainstream in two phases. I hope that all of them will return to the mainstream and be involved in community development”.
