Williamnagar(Meghalaya), May 27: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma unveiled the architectural drawing of the Tura Secretariat, announcing its upgrade to serve as an “additional secretariat” for the people of Garo Hills.
This move aims to provide easier access to government services, reducing the need for residents to travel to Shillong.
The upgraded secretariat will house various department offices, the Chief Minister’s office, Ministers’ offices, and bureaucrats. Initially planned as a mini secretariat with an estimated cost of ₹30 crore, the project has been expanded to accommodate more facilities. The Tura Secretariat will enable locals to submit documents and access government services locally, enhancing administrative efficiency.
