The District Election Officer said the objective of SIR 2026 is to ensure an inclusive, accurate and error-free electoral roll ahead of upcoming elections. BLOs have been instructed to cover every household and to assist voters, especially first-time electors, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, in filling the forms correctly.
The DEO further appealed to the public to cooperate with enumeration teams and to provide correct information to ensure that no eligible voter is left out. Residents have also been urged to use the helpline for any clarification regarding the process.
With the exercise now in its second week, officials expect the pace of both distribution and digitization to pick up further in the coming days.
