Shillong (Meghalaya), May 24: The scenic Umiam Lake, is set to host the 3rd North East Regatta 2025, a six-day sailing extravaganza that promises to thrill spectators and challenge participants. Scheduled to take place from May 24th to May 29th, the event is expected to draw top sailors from across the country.
The regatta will feature 79 sailors from 9 clubs competing in various sailing events, including double-handed classes like the 420 and 29er, showcasing the growing sophistication and ambition of the regional sailing community. Recognized as a Junior National Ranking Event, the regatta provides a platform for sailors to gain valuable experience and ranking points.
The event will be broadcast live on SportVot, allowing sailing enthusiasts to witness the action in real-time. Organized by the Umiam Sailing Club in association with the Yachting Association of India and supported by the Department of Tourism, Meghalaya, the 3rd North East Regatta promises to be an exciting celebration of sailing and sportsmanship.
