Shillong (Meghalaya), May 03: A late-night vice raid jointly conducted by police and excise officials on May 2 netted 600 litres of illegal liquor from three key locations in the city.

The crackdown hit Polo, Jeep Stand and Urkaliar simultaneously and was led by Additional SP East Khasi Hills Saurav Saini, IPS, and DySP (Women & Child Cell) Joyti Wahlang, MPS.
The entire consignment of illicit liquor was confiscated on the spot and handed over to the Excise Department for seizure under relevant provisions of law.
Officials described the operation as part of intensified enforcement against the illegal liquor trade in East Khasi Hills. Further details on arrests, if any, were not immediately released.
