Shillong (Meghalaya), May 04: St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, produced the HSSLC 2026 state topper with 457 marks, as the Meghalaya Board of School Education declared the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination results today from Tura. Joziah Daman Laloo of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, followed in second with 452, while schoolmate Nakisakahuni M Pakyntein took third with 446, sealing a Shillong sweep of the top three ranks, Controller of Examinations T.R. Laloo announced.
St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School claimed three of the top ten spots, with Felicia Chinglalven fourth at 441, Biraj Bhattacharjee eighth at 434, and K Gwyneth Wanrilang Rymbai joint tenth at 431. Little Star Higher Secondary School, Baridua, broke the capital’s run as Swastika Giri secured fifth with 440. Auxilium Girls’ Higher Secondary School’s Sushmita Shankhar was sixth with 439, St. Anthony’s Damewanbha Majaw seventh with 437, St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh’s Starwell Ronghang ninth with 433, and North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Mookyrdoop-Jowai’s Mewarica Pariat shared tenth with 431.
In subject-wise performance, Sikha Bormon of Babelapara Higher Secondary School, Purakhasia, posted the highest score statewide with 97% in Bengali (MIL). Shemjinghun Khongstia of R. K. Mission Higher Secondary School, Cherrapunjee, topped English with 93%, while Khasi (MIL) and Nepali (MIL) also saw toppers with 93% — Lashembiang Khonglam and Kusum Devi respectively. Monotosh Mohan Das of St. Anthony’s and K Gwyneth Wanrilang Rymbai of St. Edmund’s both secured 87% in Alternative English. Mozida Begum of Janapriya Higher Secondary School, Bholarbhita, led Assamese (MIL) with 92%, Swastika Giri of Little Star HSS, Baridua, topped Hindi (MIL) with 91%, and Chesram K Marak of St. Thomas HSS, Mendipathar, led Garo (MIL) with 87%. T Lalmalsawmi of Adventist HSS, Thadlaskein, secured 88% in Mizo (MIL).
Among electives, Diyahkmenlang Khonglah of Sohkha Govt. HSS, Sohkha, scored 93% in Agriculture, while Laiohpdiang Naphi Suting and Prety Nongrum of Myngken Christian HSS, Bhoirymbong, both hit 93% in Beauty & Wellness. Reshmi Saha of Women’s College, Shillong, topped Anthropology with 89%, Kyle Arkan R Marak of Don Bosco HSS, Tura, led Computer Science with 83%, and Rikkambi G Momin of Williamnagar Govt. HSS, Williamnagar, scored 76% in Apparels.
