Shillong (Meghalaya), March 21: The Commissionerate of Customs (Preventive) destroyed 1019.490 kgs of Ganja and 2.437 kgs of Heroin valued at Rs. 19.17 Crore which were seized under the NDPS Act, 1985.
The drugs destruction drive was carried out today, March 21 by incineration in the presence of Drug Disposal Committee consisting of officers of Customs and DRI.

The present destruction is being undertaken by Customs in an effort to ensure efficient management and disposal of seized goods with a view towards enhancing public welfare and the nation’s well-being.
