Shillong ( Meghalaya ) , Nov 28 : Three legislators today submitted their resignations as MLAs and also from their primary membership of their respective parties to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker , Metbah Lyngdoh during the day.
The leaders consist of 2 MLAs from National Peoples Party ( NPP) — Bendic R Marak and Ferlin C. A Sangma and 1 MLA from Trinamool Conrgress — Himalaya Muktan Shangpliang .
The three leaders are likely to join Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) during first week of December at New Delhi .
Presently , BJP is an ally of the NPP lead MDA government in the state .
Bendic R Marak was elected from 44 – Raksamgree (ST) constituency while Ms . Ferlin C . A Sangma was elected from 48 – Selsella ( ST) constituency in West Garo Hills Both had won the elections from NPP ticket .
Himalaya Muktan Shangpliang was elected from 25 – Mawsynram (ST) constituency on a Congress ticket but later shifted to opposition TMC .
The state goes to polls early next year .
