Shillong ( Meghalaya), Sept 7 : The Cabinet has cleared the Meghalaya Ropeway Bill 2022 which will lay down the procedures for different passenger/tourist Ropeways that are in the pipeline eg.,the Shillong Peak Ropeway funded for ₹140 Cr (approx) from Shillong Peak to Lawsohtun .
The Bill will give a proper structure on how applications can be made for ropeways & the guidelines to be followed for setting up, the modalities for licences & safety measures for their set up.
The Cabinet also approved the issuance of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) & the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC).
After detailed consultation with all the District Councils & after clarifying their concerns, the Cabinet cleared the notification.
The cabinet also decided that the following ordinances previously cleared by the Cabinet will be placed before the Assembly in the upcoming Session, 1. The Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax Bill, 2022 and 2 . The Meghalaya Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Taxation Amendment Bill 2022.
