Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 1: On Saturday afternoon , two persons in a bike snatched the mobile phone (Redmi) of one Jennyta Swer who was on her way from Law u Sib to Madanriting , here .
They first stopped and asked the woman for her mobile to make a call. When she refused, they snatched it. A case was registered vide Madanriting PS Case No 96 (7) 22 u/s 392 IPC .
On Sunday at about 5.25pm, Madanriting Police Station arrested the duo from Mawblei after looking out for them .
They have been identified as , Othaniel Marbaniang from Nongthymmai Rngi Neng and Govind Singh resident of Demthring Block-1.
The motor bike Yamaha with temp number MT.15 ( Y 2) has been seized and the mobile phone which they snatched recovered.
According to police ,their involvement in other such cases cannot be ruled out for which a thorough investigation will be done.
