Shillong ( Meghalaya), Feb 10 : The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) today requested the Chief Executive Member of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council ,T. Chyne to provide the KHADC memorandum and documents submitted by the CEM to the state Government on Dec 15 , 2021.
Speaking to the media, the HITO leaders said that their organization is also trying to get other documents from the KHADC relating to the recommendation of Regional Committee on Boundary submitted to the state govt., the latest Sixth Schedule Amendments proposed by the state Government to the Ministry of Home Affairs and others.
These leaders also said that they have also requested KHADC to clarify on the judicial and legal stand of KHADC relating to the High Court Order dated 12-2- 2002 directing Govt of Meghalaya to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Trading License Regulation by Non-Tribals and companies who have been violating these provisions rampantly.
They also informed that they have requested the Council for implementing the recommendations of the NCRWC of having 5 members representing the Syiems, Dollois and Nokmas as nominated MDCs in the Autonomous District Councils.
