Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 1 : One more Covid patient succumbed to his infection in Shillong taking the death toll to 112 .
The patient has been identified as Dr VP Sinha aged 82 years and hailing from Laban area of the city .
The patient was admitted to Military Hospital on Nov 21 last after he tested positive for Covid . He succumbed to his infections on Monday and the cause of death was severe pneumonia with respiratory failure , coronary artery disease, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
Meanwhile , 65 new cases were detected on Tuesday taking the state tally to 11,875 .
Among the new cases 36 were reported from East Khasi Hills, 16 from East Garo Hills , 7 from West Garo Hills, 3 from South West Garo Hills, 2 from South West Khasi Hills and 1 from West Jaintia Hills,
A total of 158 patients were declared recovered today .
