Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 16 : 159 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Wednesday taking the tally to 4195 .
However , the active cases stand at 1902 after a total of 2264 patients have recovered .
Among the fresh cases on Wednesday In East Khasi Hills district reported 106 new cases which includes 97 general public and 9 from the Armed Forces , West Garo Hills District reported 6 new cases , West Khasi Hills reported 2 cases , Ri Bhoi District 8 new cases , East Jaintia Hills District 34 new cases and South west Garo Hills District 2 and East Garo Hills 1 case.
A total of 74 patients were declared recovered on Wednesday .
Meanwhile , the state Transport department has done away with the odd-even rule across all districts of Meghalaya, barring Shillong urban agglomeration.
In an order on Wednesday, the Commissioner and Secretary, Transport department, informed that odd-even arrangement for plying of vehicles has been withdrawn from all the districts except Shillong with effect from Wednesday.
It was also mentioned that the rule will, however, apply to vehicles entering Shillong area from other parts of the state.Long-distance buses on routes within the state will continue to be exempted from the arrangement.
