Shillong (Meghalaya ) , Aug 17 : A total of 44 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state on Monday taking the total number of active cases in the state to 733.
According to official sources , out of the new cases 38 were reported from Rilbong area of Shillong .
The cases were detected after conduct of random sampling in the residential locality on Sunday .

Out of the 44 new cases 40 are from East Khasi Hills which includes 1 BSF personnel and 39 general public . West Garo Hills District reported 3 (general public) , East Jaintia Hills 1 (general public ) .
The active cases as of now stand at 733 after a total of 679 patients were discharged after recovery .
