Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec 7 : President of United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) Promod Boro expressed his confidence that his party would be winning over 16 seats out of the 21 seats in the first phase of the Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) elections on Monday in Baksa and Udalguri districts.
A grand mass gathering was organised in support of UPPL party candidates at Bishmuri ground in Kokrajhar district on Sunday where thousands of party supporters and well wishers gathered which was organised by UPPL at Bishmuri on Sunday in Kokrajhar in support of party candidates for 12 constituencies in entire Kokrajhar district.
Boro said UPPL is forming BTC council administration by winning atleast 30 seats in the BTC for parivartan and massive development.
“People want parivartan for all communities and welfare of among the society”,Boro said.
He also alleged that BPF party failed in its attempts to work for common masses and were involved in corruption and anomalies in their 17 years of misrule in BTAD.
“People’s mandate will showcase parivartan and massive welfare of the citizens in favour of UPPL in the BTR council elections”,he said adding that this time around BPF is facing severe hardship as well defeat in the council elections.
“Its the people’s wave in BTC council elections for parivartan and accordingly public mandate would favour of UPPL party candidates”, UPPL chief Pramod Boro said.
He said that UPPL stands for all communities across the region.
UPPL senior leader and ex MP UG Brahma asserted that UPPL is getting landslide victory in the BTC council elections to ensure parivartan and development.
“No situation can defeat the UPPL as the party is winning majority of the seats in the BTC council elections”, Brahma said.
In the first phase of BTC council elections scheduled on Monday , UPPL contested in the 16 seats of the 21 seats in Baksa and Udalguri districts.
He said that common voters are waiting to vote on favour of UPPL party candidates in the BTC council elections.
UPPL party is committed to work for parivartan and massive welfare in the council elections.
Tribal welfare affairs minister of Tripura and senior leader of Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura(IPFT) Mewar Kumar Jamatia also participated the election campaigning in support of UPPL.
Jamatia said that people are entitled to good governance and massive development and accordingly will vote in favour of UPPL party candidates in the council elections.
