Guwahati(Assam), July 15 : One more medical practitioner from the state succumbed to Covid -19 which was confirmed by the newly constituted Death Audit Board of Assam on Wednesday evening .
75 -year old Dr. P K Sharma was a prominent doctor from Tinsukia district of the state .
He passed away today at the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibruragh after was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday in a critical state .
On Monday , another doctor ,Dr Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology department at Gauhati Medical College died due to complications arising out of Covid infections in the hospital campus .
On Wednesday one more critically ill Covid patient , Ms . Hira Devi , aged 45 years from Kamrup Metro passed away at the ICU of Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the deaths, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “Very sad to share that Smt Hira Devi (45) from Kamrup Metro & Dr Pradip Kumar Sharma (75) from Tinsukia succumbed to #COVID19 today, as per the report of Death Audit Board of Assam. My deepest condolences to their bereaved families.”
