Guwahati (Assam), May 10: Hours after he was named the BJP legislative body leader, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma rushed to the Lok Bhawan on Sunday where he called on Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya and formally staked claim to form the new BJP-led NDA government in the state.
Union Minister J.P. Nadda and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who were appointed as central observers by the BJP leadership also went with Dr Sarma to the Lok Bhawan.
He has received letter from the Lok Bhawan to take oath on Tuesday at the Khanapara Veterinary College playground in Guwahati.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states across the country are expected to attend the grand ceremony.
