Resubelpara(Meghalaya), July 4 : In a case that’s got everyone saying “privacy matters,” Mikseng B. Marak’s sneaky habit of peeping at a girl while she was bathing landed him in hot water – literally! The Court of Special Judge (POCSO) in Mendipathar, North Garo Hills District, has sentenced him to one year of simple imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,000 for voyeurism under Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident, which dates back to December 26, 2019, was like something out of a bad thriller movie. Marak allegedly decided to play “Peeping Tom” while the girl was taking a bath. Thankfully, justice caught up with him on June 13, 2025, when the court delivered its verdict.
The investigation was led by WPSI Bailine Sangma and Sub-Inspector, who gathered enough evidence to make sure Marak wouldn’t be “peeping” out of jail anytime soon. Looks like Marak’s days of “shower spying” are over, and he’s getting a different kind of “immersion” experience – behind bars!
