Shillong(Meghalaya), July 4 : The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) has concluded a four-day workshop for Local Training Providers (LTPs) at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Mawdiangdiang. The workshop equipped 119 LTPs from 86 training institutes with the necessary tools and expertise to drive the state’s skilling mission.
The initiative aims to skill over 23,000 candidates across various sectors, enhancing their employability and contributing to the state’s economic growth. The workshop was attended by Challienkhum Songate, Principal Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, and Jagdish Chelani, Executive Director, MSSDS.
With this program, MSSDS has taken a significant step towards creating a robust skill ecosystem in Meghalaya, empowering LTPs to deliver high-quality training and enabling candidates to secure better job opportunities. The effort is expected to have a positive impact on the state’s workforce and economy.
